Buxton Med has a model pilot clinic in a poor location of Mombasa, Kenya, that provides maternal health, child health health insurance and diagnostic services. This provides affordable access to quality medical services and insurance coverage widely.
Buxton Med will replicate this model widely in Mombasa and rural Africa.
Access to quality healthcare is constrained by (a) high costs and/or (b) services provided are mostly below minimum quality standards in both urban and rural areas. This results in a large number of preventable deaths.
Maternal and child health, chronic illnesses (e.g. diabetes, hypertension and renal diseases) as well as access to diagnostic services are costly for the poor in Mombasa, more-so for the poor rural population. Medical insurance schemes have high entry requirements that make the same inaccessible to this population. Buxton Med addresses this problem.
We provided Buxton Med with investment and funding support, access to shared services and to our business management and medical advisors.
